Level 1 Training will be offered on Wednesday evenings (5:30pm – 8:30pm) January 3rd through March 28th at Crossroads in Sturgeon Bay. The fee is $70 single and $100 couple. This includes the training manual, handouts, membership to the Door Country & Wisconsin Master Gardeners and name badges.
Training will be presented by Door County Master Gardeners, the UW Extension Agent, and the Wisconsin Master Gardener Program Office. Participants will watch video lectures and read at home and come to class to engage in hands-on activities and applications designed to prepare you to be a Master Gardener Volunteer. Topics include: botany, soils, woody ornamentals, herbaceous ornamentals, entomology, plant pathology, weeds, lawn care, vegetables, fruits, and backyard wildlife. Because of the online components of training, it is recommended that students have access to a computer and internet connection capable of watching YouTube videos.
