Training Beyond Level 1
After Level 1 training, additional training is offered by the state program office and locally by county UWEX offices.
Level 2 training is a series of 6-12 week programs on specific topics provided through the MG Program Office in the spring (January - April) by distance education. Some counties may host the live program on Tuesday nights from 6-9 p.m. Certified MGVs may choose to take the same training online as archived programs from home. Level 1Training is a prerequisite for this class, so only those who have taken MG training may participate. A few counties offer their own, independent Level 2 Training programs at different times or with slightly different topics. Check with your local county UW-Extension office to see if they will be hosting Level 2 Training this year.
Level 3 training varies considerably from a few hours on a single day to multi-day programs and may cover any topic, may be hosted by the MG Program Office or county UWEX offices, or may be statewide, online courses.
Additional Advanced Training may be offered through other states or regions.
